What's New With Marla
Three new videos, an Indie Film, and 3 more contest wins!
Top of the mornin' to ya! Happy St. Patty's Day! Can you feel the spring in the air? The crocuses just popped out here on Long Island!
Now, for news in a nutshell:
I have three new videos for you! The first celebrates today -- St. Patty's Day! It's called, Everybody's Irish on St. Patrick's Day.
The second tells the story of Rosa Parks and the Civil Rights Movement. The songs is called, Rosa, Rosa, Roll On, and I wrote it with my long time fave collaborator, Les Julian.
The third is about a Chinese New Year parade, and the song, Down Chinatown Way, comes from my first CD, "We All Laugh in the Same Language." Here's the link for that one:
Second headline: My song, "Celebrating Kwanzaa," will appear in an Indie film called "Fathers vs Sons."
The film is a comedy, yet my song is so serious -- can't wait to see how they incorporated the song into the movie! Here is the link to that song: Celebrating Kwanzaa
Last but not least: I have three more song contest wins!
"Mighty Jackie, the Strikeout Queen" -- Third Place, Children's category, Unisong International Song Contest
"Children of Africa" and "Feet, Feet!" -- both won Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting Awards from the Great American Song Contest.
Coming soon: Six more new songs! Stay tuned. Happy Spring,
Marla
