Prowler in the House

Prowler in the House

Based on the story, “Proud Owl”
From Sound-Alikes Books ©1995 by Bernadette Falletta

One night owl was patrolling around
When he heard a shout on the far side of town,
“Help me! Help me!” screamed Ms. Mouse,
“Can’t you hear? There’s a prowler in the house!”

Prowler in the house,
Prowler in the house,
Can’t you hear
That prowler in the house!

Owl swooped down, he was scouting around
When he heard a howl, and a growling sound!
Mousie ran and woke her spouse –
“Husband, dear! There’s a prowler in the house!”

Prowler in the house,
Prowler in the house,
Husband, dear,
There’s a prowler in the house!

Down, down, down, down
Way down in the basement
Owl heard “meow!” sounds
& found to his amazement:

Mama cat and her calico twins
And her tabby triplets crying again!
Owl said, “Don’t be scared, Ms. Mouse!
You don’t have any prowlers in the house!”

Prowlers in the house, Prowlers in the house
She let them stay
Those prowlers in the house!
Prowlers in the house
Prowlers in the house
She’s friends today
With the prowlers in the house!
