Lyrics to a sweet ballad about a toad who finds lots of friends in the end. And you will find lots of words with the long /o/ sound! More phonics without pain.

Toad lived on a hollow log
And everyday he’d cry and moan
“I’m lonely here in this pond
There’s no one here. I’m so alone.”

Doe listened to poor Toad moan
She said to him, “Don’t feel so low!
I’ll show you a special place
Just follow me, come on, let’s go!”

Follow me, high and low
Through the plains, over plateaus
Daffodils and lilies grow
You’ll make friends, just say hello!

They came to a golden wood
With willow trees and ash and oak
Lark sang the most mellow songs,
A giant frog began to croak

Follow me, high and low
Through the plains, over plateaus
Daffodils and lilies grow
You’ll make friends, just say hello!

Toad smiled and felt right at home
He’d found his own big hollow log
Toad made himself loads of friends
His favorite friend of all is Frog!
