Whale swam in the bay, alone every day --
He needed a playmate.
Then, one sunny day, Whale heard a jay
Calling out, “Hey, mate!”

“Aren’t you my neighbor? It’s such a lovely day here!
Can I come and play there by the bay?”
Whale said, “Okay, Jay! Sounds really great, Jay!
Why don’t you stay and play all day?”

Jay rode on the whale
Pretended to sail
The Indian Ocean.
They circled the bay
Eight times a day --
Made a commotion!

Whale’s got a playmate
Special everyday mate
Whale’s got a playmate
By the bay!
Laughing together
In every kind of weather
Best friends forever:
Whale and Jay!

Whale’s got a playmate
Special everyday mate
Whale’s got a playmate
By the bay!
Monday through Sunday
Never missing one day
Everyday’s a fun day
By the bay!
