Jack found a duck (a black duck)
Near his cabin by the lake (calm lake)
The duck was cold (freezing cold!)
And he began to shake (shake, shake!)

Jack took the duck (in his pocket)
Carried him back (home, Jack!)
The duck warmed up (toasty warm!)
And began to quack (quack, quack!)

Mom wrapped the duck (in a blanket)
Gave him some cake (carrot cake!)
Jack fed him cookies (in the kitchen)
And a milkshake (cool shake!)

The duck ate it all (drank it too!)
Didn't get a tummy ache (lucky break!)
But he quacked so loud (quack! quack!)
Dad's head ached (headache!)

Duck was lucky (lucky duck!)
To be well fed (so well fed)
And under the covers (cozy, warm)
Mom tucked him in bed
("Goodnight," she said!)
