Marla Lewis began singing as soon as she learned to talk, and writing songs since she was 12! Marla has performed her original programs in schools, libraries, and parks in all five boroughs of New York City, as well as in Long Island and Westchester County for the past 20 years.
Since 1989, Marla has been teaching music and English as a Second Language in the New York City school system. She finds that "hands-on music" is a powerful motivator for children, and makes language learning a breeze!
In addition to writing several musicals and books for children, Marla has just released a new CD, "We All Laugh in the Same Language!"
Marla Lewis' songs;
"Promote literacy and language development"
"Develop self-esteem"
"Inspire individual and group participation"
"Travel across the curriculum and across cultures"
-Joe Nobile, Principal, PS 304, Bronx, NY
Here's how children respond to Marla's music:
"Can I hear that AGAIN?"
"Can I have your autograph?"
"Where can I get a copy of that song?"
"When can you come to our class again soon?"
